Overview
GoDAM extends the WordPress Block Editor (Gutenberg) with a set of media blocks purpose-built for video, audio, image, and document management. Each block integrates with GoDAM’s cloud transcoding, CDN delivery, and analytics pipeline so your media is optimised and trackable out of the box.
All GoDAM blocks appear in the block inserter under the Media category. Search for “GoDAM” to find them quickly.
Video Block
The Video block (godam/video) lets you embed a video from the WordPress Media Library with full GoDAM player capabilities. It supports adaptive bitrate (ABR) streaming via GoDAM’s transcoding pipeline, delivering the optimal quality for each viewer’s connection.
Key Features
Playback controls include autoplay, loop, mute, and configurable preload behaviour. You can set a custom poster image, choose a performance mode (balanced, quality, or speed), and control the aspect ratio. The block also supports hover-to-play previews, captions, and on-screen transcription display.
Interactive video layers — CTAs, hotspots, forms, and ad overlays — can be configured in the GoDAM Video Editor and rendered inside the block. A share button and engagement tracking toggle are available in the block settings. Video SEO schema (JSON-LD) is generated automatically at render time.
The Video block also accepts inner blocks (paragraphs, headings, buttons, images, groups, columns, spacers, custom HTML, and shortcodes) so you can build rich overlay layouts directly in the editor.

Video Gallery Block
The Video Gallery block (godam/gallery-v2) displays a collection of videos in a grid or carousel layout. It supports two modes: query-based, which pulls videos automatically by criteria like date range, media folder, or author; and handpicked, which lets you select specific videos manually.
Key Features
Gallery items can be sized using small, medium, or large presets, and the view ratio is configurable (default 16:9). Infinite scroll and “load more” behaviours are available for large collections. Additional controls include play-on-hover, autoplay, show/hide titles, a play button overlay, performance mode, and engagement tracking.

Audio Block
The Audio block (godam/audio) embeds a GoDAM-powered audio player with support for transcripts and chapters. Upload or select an audio file from the Media Library, and the block handles CDN delivery and playback.
Key Features
Playback options include autoplay, loop, and configurable preload. You can set a custom title, description, and thumbnail image. The block displays an interactive transcript and chapter navigation when available, both toggleable from the sidebar.

Document Block
The Document block (godam/pdf) embeds a PDF with an in-page preview. It is ideal for whitepapers, brochures, manuals, and any downloadable document you want visitors to browse without leaving the page.
Key Features
You can set the viewer height, add a custom title and description, and choose a preview mode. A cover image option lets you display a branded cover before the PDF loads — use an auto-generated cover or upload a custom one. The block also reports the document’s page count.

Image Block
The Image block (godam/image) displays an image with optional interactive GoDAM hotspot and product layers. This turns any image into a shoppable, interactive visual — ideal for product showcases, annotated diagrams, or interactive infographics.
Key Features
Hotspot and product layers are configured in the GoDAM Image Editor and rendered as clickable overlay points on the front end. The layers toggle can be controlled from the block settings. The block supports alignment, custom dimensions, alt text, and spacing controls.
Introduced in GoDAM v2.1.0.
Video Duration Block
The Video Duration block (godam/video-duration) displays the duration of a GoDAM video. It is designed for use inside Query Loop or post templates where you want to show the video length alongside other metadata.
Key Features
The duration format is configurable (default or custom). The block supports full typography controls (font size, line height, text alignment), colour settings, shadow, and spacing — so it integrates seamlessly into any card or listing layout.
Video Thumbnail Block
The Video Thumbnail block (godam/video-thumbnail) renders the thumbnail image of a GoDAM video. Like the Video Duration block, it is intended for use within Query Loops and post templates.
Key Features
Options include linking the thumbnail to the video’s page, showing a play button overlay, and opening the link in a new tab. The block offers extensive design controls: alignment, aspect ratio, minimum height, border (colour, radius, style, width), background colour/gradient, shadow, and spacing.
GoDAM Recorder Block
The GoDAM Recorder block (godam/srfm-recorder) adds an audio/video recording field to SureForms. It lets form visitors record directly from their webcam, capture their screen, or record audio — and submit the recording as part of the form response.
Key Features
Recording sources are configurable: screen capture, webcam, and audio can each be enabled or disabled. You can set a maximum file size, mark the field as required, and customise the label, description, and error message. Recordings are uploaded to GoDAM automatically on submission.
Requires the SureForms plugin.
