What is GoDAM, and how does it work?
GoDAM is video hosting and a media library for WordPress. It transcodes your videos into adaptive streams (HLS and DASH, with an MP4 fallback), converts audio to MP3, creates thumbnails and delivers everything through a global CDN, with interactive layers, analytics and one library across all your sites. Install the plugin and start a free 60-day trial; no credit card needed.
Which file types are supported?
GoDAM converts audio files to MP3 and video files to adaptive streaming formats (HLS and DASH, with an MP4 fallback).
Supported input formats are:
Audio: mp3, m4a, wav, ogg
Video: 3g2, 3gp, avi, flv, m4v, mov (QDM2 only), mp4, ogv, webm, wmv
(In Free version these video formats are not supported: 3G2, 3GP, AVI, OGV, WMV)

What are video layers, and how do they work?
Video Layers allow you to add interactive elements like forms, CTAs, ads, and hotspots directly onto your videos. For example, you can pause a video to collect leads using Gravity Forms or display a call-to-action at a specific timestamp.
What is adaptive bitrate streaming?
Adaptive bitrate streaming ensures that viewers get the best possible video quality based on their network conditions. It adjusts the resolution dynamically, providing a seamless viewing experience even on slower connections.
Can I customize the video player?
Yes, our customizable player allows you to tailor the controls, branding, and features to match your unique requirements and branding guidelines.
Is there a free plan available?
Yes, you can subscribe to our Free Plan, which includes 60 days of full feature access with 20 GB of storage and bandwidth, and no credit card required. You can upgrade to a paid plan anytime. If you choose not to continue, the Free Plan ends after 60 days with nothing to cancel.
Can I track video engagement and analytics?
Yes, GoDAM provides robust analytics tools to track video engagement, including metrics like play counts, watch time, and heatmaps to see which parts of your videos are most engaging. These insights help you optimize your content strategy.
What happens if my subscription expires or I don’t renew?
If your subscription expires or is not renewed, GoDAM will keep serving your transcoded videos and assets for 30 days. After that, all transcoded videos and assets will be removed from GoDAM’s CDN. Your original uploaded video in the WordPress media library will remain and be served instead. To prevent service interruptions, we recommend renewing your subscription before it expires. Organization owners can also export every original file from GoDAM Central at any time, as emailed ZIP downloads.
What security reports can you share?
GoDAM is covered by rtCamp’s SOC 2 Type II report, issued by an independent CPA firm for the Security, Availability and Confidentiality criteria. rtCamp, which builds and runs GoDAM, also holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. We share the report and the certificate under NDA. Request them at trust.rtcamp.com.
