What is GoDAM, and how does it work?
GoDAM is a media management service for WordPress that converts audio to MP3 and video to MP4 automatically. It includes features like thumbnail creation, shortcode support, customizable video layers, adaptive streaming, and asset management. Simply install the plugin and subscribe to start managing and delivering your media efficiently, ideal for creators, educators, and businesses.
Which file types are supported?
GoDAM converts all supported audio files to mp3 format and video files to MPD format.
Supported input formats are:
Audio: mp3, m4a, wav, ogg
Video: 3g2, 3gp, avi, flv, m4v, mov (QDM2 only), mp4, ogv, webm, wmv
(In Free version these video formats are not supported: 3G2, 3GP, AVI, OGV, WMV)

What are video layers, and how do they work?
Video Layers allow you to add interactive elements like forms, CTAs, ads, and hotspots directly onto your videos. For example, you can pause a video to collect leads using Gravity Forms or display a call-to-action at a specific timestamp.
What is adaptive bitrate streaming?
Adaptive bitrate streaming ensures that viewers get the best possible video quality based on their network conditions. It adjusts the resolution dynamically, providing a seamless viewing experience even on slower connections.
Can I customize the video player?
Yes, our customizable player allows you to tailor the controls, branding, and features to match your unique requirements and branding guidelines.
Is there a free plan available?
Yes, you can subscribe to our Free Plan, which includes 20 GB of storage and bandwidth with full feature access and no credit card required. You can also start a 7-day free trial to any paid plan and cancel anytime before the trial ends if you choose not to continue.
Can I track video engagement and analytics?
Yes, GoDAM provides robust analytics tools to track video engagement, including metrics like play counts, watch time, and heatmaps to see which parts of your videos are most engaging. These insights help you optimize your content strategy.
What happens if my subscription expires or I don’t renew?
If your subscription expires or is not renewed, GoDAM will keep serving your transcoded videos and assets for 30 days. After that, all transcoded videos and assets will be removed from GoDAM’s CDN. Your original uploaded video in the WordPress media library will remain and be served instead. To prevent service interruptions, we recommend renewing your subscription before it expires.
