Bandwidth and Storage Allocation
Bandwidth
Bandwidth is consumed when videos, images and other media assets are streamed or delivered to viewers. GoDAM intelligently serves the best resolution based on the viewer’s network, reducing buffering and optimizing bandwidth usage while delivering a high-quality viewing experience. All GoDAM subscription plans include a monthly bandwidth limit, which is reset automatically every month across all available plans.
Storage
GoDAM stores your original videos, images, and other assets along with automatically generated optimized versions and thumbnails. We use secure cloud storage and CDN-backed delivery to ensure fast loading, reliable performance, and smooth playback across all devices. All GoDAM subscription plans include a fixed storage allocation based on whether you choose a monthly or yearly plan. This storage is allocated once at the time of subscription activation and is shared across all your sites and users.
Storage usage
When you upload a video to GoDAM, we automatically create optimized versions in multiple resolutions along with thumbnails. This ensures smooth playback, adaptive streaming, and faster loading across all devices and network speeds.
Because of this, the total storage used may be higher than the size of the original uploaded file.
For example, uploading a 1 GB video may use around 1.5 – 1.6 GB of storage, including:
- Original video
- Optimized resolution variants
- Thumbnails and preview assets
This helps deliver the best viewing experience to your viewers.
