How to Add Video Hotspots in Elementor Page Builder
Videos can do more than tell a story, they can guide viewers directly toward taking action. As a brand marketer, you are always looking for ways to improve your video marketing ROI and increase conversions. A key part of that improvement comes from making your videos interactive and reducing friction, so viewers can move smoothly from interest to action.
One of the most effective ways to do this is by adding interactive hotspots to your videos. These hotspots let you place clickable elements on specific products or moments, creating instant pathways to product pages, signup flows, or key features. The result is a viewing experience that feels natural and effortless, whether someone taps a dress in a styling video or clicks a feature inside a software demo.

This combination works beautifully because the video tells the story while the interactive hotspot drives action at the moment when purchase intent is highest. Instead of making viewers search for product links or hunt for contact forms, the hotspot gives them a direct route with a single click, eliminating friction and capturing interest at the perfect time.
Add video hotspots
We at GoDAM have built video marketing tools that let you add interactive elements such as hotspots, in-video forms, CTAs, Polls to your WordPress videos and improve conversion rate optimization.
To add interactive elements to your videos using Elementor, please follow the below steps:
Prerequisites:
- GoDAM WordPress Plugin
- Elementor WordPress Plugin
Step 1
Go to GoDAM video editor and select the video where you wish to add the video hotspot to.
Step 2
Choose a timestamp and click to add a new layer, then select the hotspot layer. First, drag the hotspot to the exact point in the video where you want to capture attention, add the URL, then customize the duration, set behaviors like pausing on hover, change the hotspot icon, and adjust any other settings you prefer. Once done, save your video and use the preview button to see the changes in action.
Step 3
Now choose the post or page where you want to add the video hotspot. Make sure you are in the Elementor page builder view, then search for the GoDAM video widget among the available widgets and simply drag and drop it onto your page.
Step 4
Now select the video where you added the hotspot and save the page. You can further customize the video by adding SEO details, setting it to play muted, enabling autoplay, hiding playback controls, and even changing the video thumbnail. Then save the page and your Elementor page with a video hotspot is ready.
Watch the video hotspot in action on this landing page (appearing at 0:02s in the first video), which has been built using Elementor.
Note: GoDAM works with both Elementor and the Gutenberg page builder. It offers three widgets, which are GoDAM Video, GoDAM Audio and GoDAM Gallery. You can also add other video layers, such as forms layer, to capture leads directly from your videos.
Summary
By adding video hotspots in WordPress video, you are giving your viewers a more intuitive and engaging way to interact with your content. This small enhancement can lead to higher conversions, longer watch times, and a more seamless path from interest to action. It’s a powerful upgrade for any brand looking to maximize the impact of its video marketing.
