Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 20/02/2025

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the GoDAM product and related services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Our Privacy Principles:

  • We only collect personal information when necessary.
  • We do not share your personal information with anyone outside of GoDAM and rtCamp (the company running the GoDAM product) unless explicitly stated in this policy.
  • We only store your personal information for testing, development, or service improvement purposes, and we delete it as soon as it is no longer needed.

GoDAM Product Compliance:

The GoDAM plugin itself does not collect any data from your website or your users’ websites.

  • Your name
  • Billing address
  • Shipping address
  • Email address

  • Credit card/payment details
  • Any other information required for order processing

We use this information to:

  • Send you important account, order, and service information.

GoDAM Free and Paid Versions Data Logging:

Both free and paid versions log the following data to serve media files to your website. This data is retained on GoDAM servers until your subscription is active, after which it is automatically and irreversibly deleted:

  • IP address and URL of the website requesting a transcode job
  • Name of uploaded file, its length, and other media metadata
  • The actual uploaded file and any generated thumbnails
  • Data associated with the license key of the requesting website

When you leave a comment on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, your IP address, and browser user agent string for spam detection. Your email address may be hashed and provided to the Gravatar service (their privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/). After comment approval, your profile picture may be visible publicly.

Support & Forums:

GoDAM provides premium product support via a Helpdesk ticketing system on this website. All personal and admin information is accessible only to the user who submits the ticket and our support team.

Our support forums store:

  • Past support tickets with text, media, and metadata.
  • Customer user data of all participants in support tickets.

Contact Forms:

You may voluntarily provide your name and email address to contact us or subscribe to our newsletter.

Cookies:

If you leave a comment, you can opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last for one year. A temporary cookie is set when you log in to determine if your browser accepts cookies. Articles on this site may contain embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles) and social sharing buttons. Embedded content from other websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We use Xero for internal invoicing (data is only accessible to rtCamp accounting staff) and Sendy for newsletter management (your name and email are shared with Sendy when you subscribe).

Your Rights:

You have the right to request an exported file of your personal data and to request that we erase your personal data (except data we are obligated to keep for legal or administrative purposes).
